Whether this is your first time getting married or have done this before, flowers are a big decision. Please take a moment and let me explain how my detailed process works. There is so much that goes into wedding and event floral décor that I believe is important to share with you.
The initial consultation is a very detailed meeting. I will personally sit down with you and we will go over all the flowers and items that you may need. We will select the flowers and colors for the bouquets, and coordinate matching boutonnieres and corsages for each person in your wedding party. We will discuss the ceremony location and details for each arrangement. Since the reception venue and centerpieces will represent a significant portion of your flower budget, I will provide you with a detail sheet that lists each type of flower that will be used as well as itemized pricing. Please plan to spend approximately 1-2 hours at the initial appointment.
Once you decide to move forward, a 20% deposit and a signed agreement is required to secure the date. 2-4 weeks prior to your event, I will set up a final appointment to review and finalize your wedding or event floral décor selections. At that time you can add items, change flowers, or even flower colors if necessary. During this appointment, we will also set your delivery time schedules. Please keep in mind that there is a setup and delivery fee for all delivery locations. In addition, the final balance of the order must be paid 2 weeks prior to your event.
Once everything is finalized, I will complete floral “recipes” for each and every item on your detail sheet. This includes the number of individual flowers that will be designed into each bouquet, boutonniere, corsage, ceremony arrangement, and centerpiece. Once the order is complete, I will place the order to the growers to ensure timely and complete delivery of all the flowers. Since all items are perishable, timing is everything.
Your flowers are delivered to me approximately 2-3 days prior to your event. Once they are brought in they need to be “processed”. The flowers come in large boxes and are wrapped in packaging to keep them protected during shipping. Each individual flower must be unpackaged, stems cleaned of thorns, stems cut at the correct angle, and then placed in a special solution of water and “flower food”. The flowers then need to be hydrated before they are ready to be arranged. This process can take some time and special care needs to be taken.
This is the point where the magic and passion come alive. I will create beautiful, elegant bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, arrangements and centerpieces for your memorable event. This stage can take anywhere from 1-2 days to complete, lasting 8 or more hours each day.
Special care and packaging of your floral décor must be taken into consideration when we deliver your items. I will not accept your bouquets getting bruised or damaged in the delivery process. Our deliveries can range from transporting bouquets to one location, ceremony arrangements to another location, and centerpieces to yet a third location. If there are rentals orders that need to be picked up, a fee will be charged accordingly. I will be in contact with each ceremony and reception location to coordinate a time for delivery and pick up of all floral items.
As you can see, there is a great deal of effort that goes into the floral décor for your wedding or special occasion. I use this process for each and every client regardless of the size of their event. Every client deserves the absolute best attention to every detail, and that’s what I offer.
